Photographer & artist Richard S. Chow, based in Los Angeles, is celebrated for his fine art, documentary, and unique photo-based creations. 

With a studio in the vibrant Little Tokyo, downtown LA, he has showcased his work in solo exhibitions at prestigious venues like the Museum of Art and History Lancaster, Orange Coast College, Neutra Museum & Gallery, and Metro 417 Gallery. In 2024, he's set to present a solo show at Gallery 825 in West Hollywood, CA. He has contributed to over 100 group exhibits. Richard's works grace permanent collections at the LA Public Library Foundation and American Hotel. He has independently published two books, also featured in the monogram LACMA Jazz 25th Anniversary published by LA County Museum of Arts. 

Highlights of recent group shows include the Toyko Metropolitan Art Museum, Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA), the Griffin Museum in Boston, bG gallery, Gallery 825, Los Angeles Center of Photography, Open Mind Art Space, Makery Gallery, photo l.a., LA Art Shows, Bergamot Station galleries, among others. Richard has earned recognitions in Lucie Foundation’s annual International Photography Awards (IPA) six years running from 2013 to 2018, then in 2020.

Beyond his own art, Richard shares his expertise with the art community as a portfolio reviewer, curator, educator, and grant reviewer for the California Arts Council, a Cal State agency. He is represented by United Photographic Artists Gallery in Tampa, FL, and Gallery 825 in West Hollywood.
